Darah Morgan Gomez

High School Student

BIOGRAPHY

Darah Morgan Gomez is a 9th Grade Honor Student at Oak Mountain High School located in Birmingham, AL. Darah is no stranger to excelling. She received “The Finley Award”, one of Hoover City Schools most prestigious awards at the age of 7 and was accepted into the gifted program as a rising 3rd grader. She received First Place in the Shelby County Middle School Division of the Art of Kindness Contest. As a result, Darah’s artwork was displayed for “The 2024 Out of the Darkness Walk” hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at Veterans Park. Her artwork “Lonely Girl” depicted a young girl who felt alone.
 

Darah’s collection “Through The Eyes of Darah Gomez” was first debuted by Taki Sarhaan, at the Kappa Alpha Psi Trussville/Pell City Alumni Chapter Inaugural Black & White Scholarship Ball. Afterwards, she was extended an invitation to showcase her collection at the  Edward A. Mullen Jr. Scholarship Foundation Art Auction & Exhibit.
